You wake up to the soft light coming from your Casper Glow light. It’s the 3rd different glow light you’ve gotten to wake up feeling relaxed and refreshed. You tried some other light alarm clocks, but like a lot of other things, you tried it for a week and decided it was a waste.

This month, you’re picking back up focusing on your sleep. It’s something you’ve done before, having tried out apps like Sleep Cycle. And that was cool, the app showed you how many hours you slept, when you were in REM cycle, and it woke you up to the sound of harps playing.

But after two weeks, you decided that you didn’t care all that much for it.

Really though, you don’t need any of these apps or gadgets. You just need to go to bed at 9:30 pm and get 8 hours of sleep. Instead of staring at your phone until 11:30 pm watching videos on Instagram, reading the same news over and over, and reading about ways to achieve wellness (like putting your phone down and going to sleep).

You wake up to a bunch of notifications from Gmail, Slack, Medium and Instagram. You told yourself that you would stop checking…
