The Promise Of New Beginnings

As part of keeping up my physical, emotional, and mental health during these times, I try to get outside for a run in my local park every day.

It’s springtime here in the U.S., and despite all the craziness going on around us, there’s beauty everywhere as the flowers bloom and the trees blossom. As my sister-in-law reminded our family, spring is about hope and new beginnings.

Hope and new beginnings have been on my mind a lot lately, and taking time to be more present. As part of trying to be more present these past weeks, I’ve been pausing on my runs to appreciate the flowers.

The photos below are from the last few weeks of runs through the park — I’ve lived in San Francisco for almost 7 years, and this is the first time I’ve noticed many of these beautiful flowers.

Even with everything that’s happening, in the coming days and weeks, I hope you’re able to slow down a little to be fully present and appreciate the surrounding beauty, and that you find comfort in the promise of new beginnings and things hoped for.
