An Open Letter to Military Veterans
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” — Robert Frost
Veterans,
You served our country by sacrificing your comfort and freedom for the benefit of others. The country owes you a great debt of gratitude and needs you more than ever in these divided times.
As a veteran, you possess the qualities of a great leader — compassion, empathy, and strong character. The world needs your unique perspective and guidance now more than ever.
Your experience serving in diverse groups, facing challenges, and making sacrifices for the greater good, is just what this country needs. We need you to step up and show others what good leadership looks like. You have the ability to bring people together, to bridge divides, and to inspire change.
Even though you’ve hung up the uniform, your service to the country is not over—it has only just begun.
Lead with courage. Lead with purpose. And leave a lasting legacy of hope and unity that will inspire others.
The time has come for you to choose the road less traveled once again and serve your country. Your military service was a defining moment in your life—but it’s time to move beyond that and make an impact in other areas.
You can honor your service by empowering your community to be better— to love more, to accept more, and to seek to understand. The country needs your courage and leadership to create a better future where everyone is accepted for who they are.
Veterans, America needs you, now more than ever.
